Mark Arnold Podcast – Multiple Calls Podcast
Scott Hewlett from the Multiple Calls Podcast reached out to me about being on his podcast. I was hesitant to take part at first, because describing the journey of over 20 years being in the emergency services has its ups and downs. At times I have certainly struggled with the cumulative effect of the work, and different techniques to best move forward. I felt though in my current position that this podcast spoke to firefighters who would certainly benefit from the experiences that I had been through and the lessons that I had learned.
One thing you don’t want to do in the fire service is to seek attention and stand out, but I decided that this problem is larger than just me. I know that there are many who have felt and are feeling the same way that I have, and if this podcast helps members of the emergency services, then that is worth it.
With over 23 years of service in the Emergency Services, Mark is an Acting Captain with the fire service. Mark started his career with the Peel Regional Police and then transitioned to the fire service. Mark is an advocate for firefighter fitness and was the Race Director for the Emergency Services Adventure Race (ESAR). Co-author of the a new book 100 Firehall Workouts. Mark was the first 911 personnel in Canada to receive psychedelic assisted therapy through Field Trip Health. He is a strong advocate for firefighter health and wellness and works towards making more resources and treatments available to help frontline workers both physically and mentally.
